The structure of the first article was much like any other article I have read, it was nicely formatted and well organized. The second article did not have any structure at all, in fact it was almost just a litany of facts.

Hi Ava,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post comparing the popular magazine and scholarly journal article.
The scholarly journal article has a structure, but it is much different from the popular magazine article. What is the purpose of the popular magazine article, as opposed to the scholarly journal article? Why is the scholarly journal article formatted in the way that it is?
I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Professor Wexelbaum
The purpose of a magazine article i guess would be to get anyone to read it, you don't have to be a near expert on the subject to understand it. The purpose of a scholarly journal is so that people researching the subject can get information about the subject.
